Advantages of using Stainless Steel
Stainless steel products are very popular in Poland and Europe. No wonder that in 2019 alone, the consumption of this material in Poland exceeded 500 000 tons. All thanks to the universality of this unique material. Why is stainless steel so popular?
Stainless steel was invented a little over 100 years ago by German engineers, but it only started to gain popularity in the British Isles, when it was used for the production of cutlery. Today, this material is widely used in industry, and world engineers find newer and newer applications for it every year.
Properties of stainless steel
Unlike many other materials, stainless steel does not require frequent and costly maintenance. It is resistant to aggressive environments, thanks to which it is widely used, among others, in in the maritime industry. Its longevity and durability mean that elements made of this material, such as: seamless stainless steel elbows, seamless stainless steel tees, seamless stainless steel reducing tees, seamless stainless steel concentric reducers, stainless plate flanges, stainless weld-neck flanges and stainless blind flanges do not need to be replaced often. In addition, stainless steel can be recycled, because it does not lose its unique properties when melted down. This is of key importance for the idea of closed waste management promoted in Europe.
Stainless steel, thanks to its passive chromium oxide coating, does not react with other substances. Thanks to this, it can be freely used in contact with food. Strict HACCP standards require the use of stainless steel in contact with food. All because steel is non-toxic and easy to keep clean. Stainless steel elements can be cleaned with most common detergents and we do not have to worry that the steel surfaces will lose their properties or change their appearance.
