Stainless steel I-beams are part of a group of steel products known as structural sections. This group also includes angles, half-round bars, T-bars, equal angles, and channels. The first is grade 1.4301, which is the most commonly used stainless steel grade, and the second is 1.4571. This grade is used when the I-beams may be exposed to high temperatures and strong acidic environments. Stainless steel I-beams have a cross-section that resembles two vertical lines touching at their tops, forming a 'T' shape. These elements are used as load-bearing components in building and engineering constructions. Acid-resistant I-beams are utilized as equipment in machines and furnaces operating under special atmospheric conditions. The analyzed corrosion-resistant steel products are hot-rolled, and their surface is slightly rough. The I-beams are etched and annealed at temperatures reaching 1000 °C. Steel I-Beam Grades Available in the Offer
Stainless steel I-beams in 1.4301/304 are considered part of the austenitic chromium-nickel steels. I-beams in this grade demonstrate exceptional corrosion resistance in natural environments. Structural sections made of steel 1.4301 are not a good choice in salty environments or in high chlorine concentrations. In I-beams 304, intergranular corrosion may occur when exposed to very high temperatures, such as during welding. Products made from this popular stainless steel have low magnetism before processing. I-beams 1.4301 are used by engineers when corrosion resistance, good steel processing properties, and appearance are key criteria. Structural sections in this steel grade are used in the chemical, oil, and automotive industries, as well as in machine constructions in the paper and textile industries. Directly from the warehouse, you can also purchase stainless round bars 1.4301 and seamless tubes 1.4301/304.
Acid-resistant steel I-beams 1.4571/316Ti are an excellent welding material using all available metal joining methods. Heat treatment after welding is definitely not needed. In exceptional cases, where it seems advisable to reduce welding stresses for corrosive chemical reasons, heat treatment should be performed. I-beams made of steel 316Ti exhibit good ductility. When processing this steel grade, it is necessary to use ground tools during this operation. Structural sections of steel 1.4571 look better when polished. Choosing acid-resistant I-beams 1.4571 over others available on the market is motivated when resistance to acids and high temperatures is required. Products of the 316Ti grade have very good resistance to pitting corrosion, which is why they are used in the oil, petrochemical industries, and in the construction of installations. These I-beams are used in vacuum technology, in equipment of reactors, in nuclear energy, during the construction of submarines, and in the construction of furnaces. These stainless elements are used by designers in the pharmaceutical, fat processing, photochemical industries, and in the fields of exhaust technology and wastewater treatment.
