Your leading stainless steel supplier in Europe
As a premier stainless steel supplier, our company is a key partner for industry across Poland and the European continent. The widespread reliance on stainless steel products is well established – this is a material whose global consumption speaks for itself. Its popularity is rooted in the outstanding versatility of this advanced alloy. But what truly makes stainless steel the material of choice for such a wide range of applications?
Below, we take a closer look at the science, the benefits, and the range of products and services we offer.
What defines stainless steel? The science behind the shine
At its core, stainless steel is an iron-based alloy defined by its exceptional resistance to corrosion and rust. This property comes from its chemical composition, and specifically from its chromium content. To be classified as stainless, a steel alloy must contain a minimum of 10.5 % chromium. This threshold is critical: chromium reacts with oxygen in the air to form a thin, invisible, and remarkably durable passive layer on the surface of the steel. This layer self-heals when scratched, providing continuous protection against corrosion.
To further enhance its properties, other elements are added in precisely controlled amounts:
- Nickel improves formability, toughness, and weldability. The combination of chromium and nickel is the foundation of the most common austenitic grades.
- Molybdenum increases corrosion resistance, especially against chlorides (such as saltwater), and helps prevent pitting corrosion.
- Manganese raises strength and wear resistance.
- A controlled, low carbon content is crucial for good weldability and prevents intergranular corrosion at the grain boundaries.
The main families of stainless steel
Not all stainless steels are the same. They are grouped into several families based on their crystalline microstructure. Understanding these families helps in selecting the right grade for the job. Designations follow either the American AISI system or the European material numbers under EN 10027.
- Austenitic: the most widely used family, including grades such as 304 (1.4301), its low-carbon variant 304L (1.4307), and the highly corrosion-resistant 316L (1.4404). Austenitic steels are non-magnetic, offer excellent formability, and are easily welded. Their balanced properties make them ideal for everything from kitchen sinks to complex industrial piping.
- Ferritic: grades such as 430 (1.4016) contain little or no nickel and are magnetic. They offer good corrosion resistance at a more attractive price point and are commonly used in automotive parts, decorative trims, and appliance casings.
- Martensitic: known for exceptional hardness and high strength, grades such as 420 and 440C can be heat-treated. They are the standard choice for knife blades, cutting edges, and wear-resistant components.
- Duplex: as the name suggests, these grades (such as 1.4462) have a mixed microstructure of austenite and ferrite. The result is a material that is both high in strength and highly resistant to corrosion – the preferred choice for demanding sectors such as oil and gas, marine applications, and chemical processing.
- Precipitation Hardening (PH): these steels can be heat-treated to develop very high strength, with applications in aerospace and other high-performance industries.

Bespoke services & distribution from our service centre
Beyond our standard products, we operate as a full-service steel centre. Projects often require non-standard specifications, which is why we also provide bespoke solutions and customer-specific processing:
- Precision cutting: a full cut-to-size service across all product groups, with a typical cutting tolerance of -0 / +5 mm, helping you minimise waste and inventory costs.
- Surface finishing: satin polished, brushed, and pickled finishes available on request.
- Distribution: a reliable logistics network with timely delivery across Poland and the European Union. For selected clients we can also arrange UK delivery.
Applications: from handrails to high-tech industries
The unique combination of high corrosion resistance, strength, hygiene, and low maintenance makes stainless steel indispensable across many sectors:
- Construction and architecture: durable and elegant handrails, balustrades, structural supports, and facade cladding. Architects also value stainless steel for its ease of disinfection and cleaning.
- Food & beverage: essential for food preparation areas, processing plants, and tank trucks used for the transport of brines, milk, and soft drinks. Grades such as 304L and 316L are the industry standard.
- Energy and chemical processing: the heat-resistant properties and corrosion resilience of grades such as 321 (1.4541) and duplex steels ensure a long service life in the harshest environments, including the oil and gas sector.
- Medical and pharmaceutical: the inert and sterilisable surface of austenitic grades such as 316L is vital for surgical instruments, implants, and cleanroom facilities. Martensitic grades such as 420 and 440C are reserved for cutting edges where hardness is critical.
- Automotive and appliances: from exhaust components to kitchen equipment, cutlery, cookware, and casings for white goods.
