Flanges are used wherever a detachable connection of pipeline components is required — with valves, butterfly valves, pumps, filters and other fittings. Grade 1.4404 / 316L is an austenitic stainless steel with enhanced corrosion resistance, particularly in more chemically aggressive environments. Thanks to its molybdenum content, this grade offers better corrosion resistance than steel 1.4301 / 304. The material is used in the chemical, food, marine, pharmaceutical industries and in installations and equipment exposed to moisture, chlorides and other corrosive agents.
