Stainless Steel Blind Flanges
A blind flange (Type 05 to EN 1092-1) is a solid disc with bolt holes. It is used to close off the end of a pipe, branch or vessel, to isolate part of a system during pressure testing or maintenance, and to prepare a connection point for future expansion of the piping.
How to Choose the Right Flange
A blind flange must match its mating flange: the nominal size (DN), pressure rating (PN), bolt circle and number of bolt holes must all be the same. Choose the steel grade based on the medium and environment – 1.4541 (AISI 321) is titanium-stabilized and also suitable for higher temperatures, while 1.4401 (AISI 316) contains molybdenum and offers better resistance to chlorides.
Order Documentation
An EN 10204 3.1 inspection certificate confirming the material grade and heat number can be ordered with every blind flange.
